At three years old, the state took her from her parents and gave her to her grandparents. At 11 years old, her Grandfather got sick and died. |
At 12 years old, her grandma started to go blind. “She had to sell her house and moved in with her sister…so she couldn’t take care of us anymore.” The state stepped in and this time the family was split up. “I used to cry myself to sleep at night because I missed my brothers.” says London. But during these difficult times she connected to Bill and Marcie Curry at Breakthrough Urban Ministries. “ Bill and Marcy helped out a lot…because they gave us something to do positive when we got out of school because we would go straight to Breakhtrough after school.” Her Breakthrough basketball coach hooked London up with an opportunity to attend St. Ignatius College Prep. “It was this huge school. Music Award" as the graduate who gave the best evidence of talent in the study of music. |
