Women's Services Volunteer Opportunities
Prepare and Serve Meals

Each year, over 900 homeless guests receive hot, nutritious meals at Breakthrough. Through our Manna Ministry program, volunteers prepare and serve a meal for 20 to 30 guests. 
  • Joshua Center, 3330 W. Carroll Ave.; Chicago, IL 60624
  • Each team is coordinated by a meal leader.
  • Prep and mealtime is 7:00 to 9:30 pm.
  • Breakfast and lunch opportunities also available.
  • Commit to service once a month for three months.

Street Outreach

Reach out to women who struggle with addiction and life on the street
  • Conducted on foot with an RV serving as a base.
  • Volunteers and staff meet beforehand for prayer and worship.
  • Fridays, 9:00 pm to 1:30 am.

Share Knowledge and Skills

In addition to the educational and spiritually enriching opportunities already offered, Breakthrough would like to provide: 
  • GED preparation assistance
  • free counseling services
  • more job preparation, skills classes and search assistance
  • arts and crafts activities
  • game days

We also welcome things like spa treatments and homemade goodies to help us demonstrate the love of Christ.
